R.J. Fisk ca. 1920

2. ROBERT JAMESON2 FISK (Joseph Fiske, #4) 12,13,14,15 was born on 15 Nov 1849 at Fiskburg, Kentucky. 16, 17 He married Temperance Morgan (see #3), daughter of David Morgan and Eleanor Graham, on 13 Sep 1873 at Livingston Co., Missouri. 18 He died on 30 Aug 1929 at Spokane, WA, at age 79. 19

He was listed in the 1880 Census at Warrensburg Twp., Johnson Co., Missouri, as a farmer. 20 He was also known as R.J. Fisk (his wife always called him Mr. Fisk). 21 In about 1890 they moved to Preston and then Rosalia, WA where he established a wheat ranch of 1000 acres. 22 According to one family story, he harvested a crop of apples and took the shipment to the train depot. All the apples were loaded and when he was informed that he would be paid when the apples were sold in the east, he ordered them unloaded. He returned to the ranch and cut down the apple trees.
In another story the family sheltered members of the Jesse James gang. The dates and location match, but there is no other evidence.

  •       i.   CLAUD1 24, 25 was born on 31 Aug 1875 at Warren, Missouri. 26, 27 He married Ella May Phillips circa 1904 at Spokane, WA. 28 He married Nancy Della (--?--) after 1926. 29 He died on 18 Jul 1950 at Josephine, OR, at age 74 on his way home on a train from a Shriners Convention in Los Angeles. 30 He was buried in Rosalia, WA. 31, 32


  •       ii.   DOROTHY was born in Apr 1880 at Missouri. She married Dr. Dietz circa 1905 at WA.


  •     1.  iii.   PEBBLE MAY.


  •       iv.   CORNET was born on 12 Jul 1889 at Warrensburg Twp., Johnson Co., Missouri, and was named for her father's favorite musical instrument. 33 She died on 5 Oct 1987 at Long Beach, California, at age 98. 34




Temperance Morgan, ca. 1880

3. TEMPERANCE2 MORGAN (David, #6) 35,36,37,38 was born on 21 Feb 1851 at Floyd Co., Kentucky, and she grew up near Paris, Illinois. 39, 40, 41 She married Robert Jameson Fisk (see #2), son of Joseph Lewis Fiske and Martha Ann Metcalfe, on 13 Sep 1873 at Livingston Co., Missouri. 42 She died on 12 Apr 1940 at Spokane, WA, at age 89. 43 She was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Spokane. 44

In about 1890 they moved to Preston and then Rosalia, WA where Fisk established a wheat ranch of 1000 acres. 45
Family tradition holds that she received her name from her father who was ashamed that he missed her birth while away racing horses.
